If Ducks fight, is it called a "Duckus?"

One mother duck has adolescent ducklings tagging along with her now. There were four. Now there are three, but they are almost as big as she is.

Mother duck #2 had nine fluffy yellow ducklings who are only now starting to shed their yellow feathers and blend into their brown feathers. She is down to seven, and is quite fierce in their defense.

Mother duck #3 is still dallying with the drake and has yet to decide on a nest site.

So when the drake swam into the midst of the small ducklings yesterday, there was quite a ruckus. Or should that be more correctly termed "Duckus?"

Much flapping of wings, splashing of water, and shouting of ducks was heard in the land, before the two separated. Mom went off to shake out her feathers thoroughly before returning to shepherd the ducklings onto shore. The drake, well, he went over to chat to the guests sitting on the dock, as if nothing had happened at all...
