Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart. www.bondi-village-resort.com

A Silence of Wings
Our barn swallows left today. That's about two weeks later than the rest of the swallows heading out on their fall migration.
Mom swallow did very well -- she got four babies flying from her first nesting in July, and three out of four flying from this very late second nest. That's impressive.
The barn is strangely silent, without their summer voices. The aisle is strangely empty without the parents circling endlessly through bringing food to the nest.
We wish them well... it's a long way to fly, for little wings, and they are late... so everybody cross your fingers, and say a tiny little prayer for these little birds heading out alone to South America.
Really really truly, we hope we'll see them back here again next summer. Just nesting a little bit sooner!
The fall colours are slowly burning down into the golds and yellows, still stunningly lovely, and it is the best time of year to be out hiking. This is when Algonquin Park is less crowded, and your chances of seeing a moose (especially the big bulls with their massive racks!) is greatly improved.
But thoughts are shifting to the Next Big Thing -- which will be Winter. Christmas to New Years is a fabulous time to be here: ski, skate, snowshoe, build snowforts, toboggan, play with all the new Christmas toys, or just relax by the fire. We look after the snow removal and trail maintenance, you look after the having fun part.
Snowmobiling gears up in January as their trails open, but the ski hills are open long before that for those who prefer a quieter activity. Something for all, really... Consider taking your winter vacation here, not far from the city, and where the Canadian dollar gets you a lot farther than it does south of the border.
We've got a fantastic place to gather, enjoy the scenery, relax by a fire, and spend time with family and friends. Whether a quiet couples' getaway, or a family reunion or a club outing , we've got your cottage waiting.
