Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Filling in the Gaps

First you dig a trench... then you smooth it out. Next you lay in the conduit... then you bury that... Then you add the Caution Tape.
That's just in case down the road someone else is digging a trench. The plan is that they will dig up this red caution tape before they come to the buried electric line beneath.
Once this is all in place, the heavy lifting starts, and the entire trench is filled back in. The sod is rolled back into place on top. It's amazing how swiftly the grass takes over again.
A lot of the preliminary work must be done by hand, but thankfully the excavator is able to do a lot of the earthmoving! It's also handy for tamping the soil back down into place.
It was a lot of work, but luckily for Brian and David, the Supervisor showed up in the black truck to ensure it was all being done to code...
