Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Fall Fairs

Hard to believe that there were at least three sunflowers at the Huntsville Fall Fair that were taller than this one...

That's the great thing about Fairs. You take in the best produce you have at the time, and help to "make a show", as my Dad would have said.

We've exhibited at the local Fair for years.  This year our produce came home with more ribbons -- first place for both summer and winter crabapples, third for the largest sunflower head, and a second for potatoes.

Nancy had friends and students showing in the Horse Show section. Her friend and vet, Norma de Rose, even tried her hand at driving a pony in the pleasure driving class.

The Bondi Maintenance Dept. made sure the mid-way got a good workout on Saturday...

Fairs are just good fun.  Janet, one of our long-time Bondi Family Members, was featured on the front page of the Welland Tribune. Walking in the fall Wainfleet Fall Fair parade, representing the historical society, Janet was pretty as a picture (no doubt the reason the paper gave her the whole top half of page one!)

Other guests that are currently here for some Algonquin Hiking also made a splash at their own local fair -- Anne won for both her chili and her relish recipes at the Doon Fall Fair.

Fall fairs have something for everyone, and are a wonderful country tradition.  You should always seize the chance to visit them.  Really... you'd be amazed at what you'll find!

Just beware the mid-way -- Byron - Norma's son --  who is a lethal player on his hockey, lacrosse and baseball teams, just couldn't seem to stop winning stuffed animals in the pitch and toss.
