Heron, Also Known as Big Foot

Early morning mist -- a perfect time to get down to the lake and savour the quiet.

The Great Blue Heron thought so too. He flew slowly over Elizabeth and her Dad Brendan while they were out in the paddle boat looking at the loon.

He did more than fly over, though. Evidently he stopped in to see if there was another cup of coffee available. These interesting tracks were right beside the dock at Clover cottage.   (Those would be Elizabeth's tracks in the top left!)

That bird has BIG feet!

There was also an early visit from Mommo Duck and her six little ones, who swam right under Elizabeth in the paddle boat.  And the loon who along with her chick was fishing the bay.
A very 'bird' morning, all in all, in the soft mist.  Margaret took full advantage of the peace and quiet, while Elizabeth took Mom and Dad back to the cottage for breakfast.
