Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

On one hand, Deer. On the other, Moose.

The Geenen family have been sending pictures home from their holiday with us.

Prompting one of their friends to ask, "are you at Bondi Village, or are you on safari?"

You might be forgiven for asking... they have seen the wolf puppies on at least two occasions. They came out for the Wolf Howl in the night; for the Dark Skies and Owl Prowl here on the lawn; they have seen the fox, and the does with their fawns; a pair of loons fishing in the bay; the merlin; wild turkeys (at least the feathers!) and so much more.

This handsome buck was spotted in our back fields -- where, I might add, the blackberries are getting ripe. It was too dry for the blueberries to do much, and it is well past wild strawberry season, but there are still some berries to be nibbled.

On a drive into Algonquin Park, they were only fifteen minutes away from here when they found the first pair of moose. Everyone was standing on the shoulder of the road to admire them.  When you drive Algonquin, you have to watch for those Moose Jams along the roadway -- because most of the people are looking at the moose, and not everyone is looking at the traffic. Just a tiny cautionary note for drivers there...

Not much farther into the Park, they came across another pair. This included a bull sporting quite a handsome set of antlers.

North America's largest land mammal, the moose is majestic, breath taking even. You don't realize how big, how impressive these creatures are until you see them roaming in their natural environment.

Thanks so much for sharing your vacation photos!
