Bondi Resort Blog

Come on into our Blog for a look at the wonderful world we've got to share! With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails and snowshoeing in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Shy Birds

There was a big flock of wild turkeys in the back field today. They are wily, and camera shy, but I was able to get this picture of one of the hens in the tall grass.

Back at the resort, another camera shy chap is my Eastern Bluebird. I'm still trying to get the really sharp photo of him!  Mrs. Blue will pose for me, but Mr. Blue is camera shy...  Maybe one of our guests will be able to provide me with the picture I'm craving!

Another bird, less shy, but quite secretive, is the robin. This nest is tucked away in a nicely secluded and sheltered location.  Mr. and Mrs. weren't really delighted that I was there to photograph the "kids"  but I was in and out pretty quickly, so didn't disturb them unduly.

There is an 'heir and a spare' in the nest just now.

  1. That baby bird ought to grow quickly, but at this time of year, they're still so vulnerable.
